Learning outcomes Student is able to:
  • Model an Internet service and understand the possibilities of implementation.
  • Understand the present and future trends of ICT.
  • Understand the possibilities of ICT in e-commerce and communication.
Content
  • Analysis, design and implementation of an Internet service of a real company or organization.
  • Possibilities of ICT in e-commerce.

Assessment
  • Final Exam 20 %

Project work Each student group will carry out an Internet service project for a real organization or company. This includes modelling, business analysis, design and implementation of a prototype. The Internet service might be organization's interactive web pages or a part of them. It might be open for everybody (internet), for business partners (extranet) or for the staff (intranet). It might be integrated to the data bases of the organization and it might include mobile services.  
Assignments Group assignments (one group consists of 2 - 4 students):
  • Project work
  • Essay on some topic of new technology and its applications in business or communication.
  • Peer assessment of a project of another student group. 

Individual assignments:

  • Discussions in the discussion board of different topics of the new information technology and its applications in business and communication.  
Discussion board Participating to the discussions is a part of the assignments which the assessment is based on. 
Peer assessment The student groups and students will assess and comment each others' project work and discussions. 
Exam The online exam is at the end of the course and its day and time will be agreed at the beginning of the course.
